Despite Paying Dividends, Chandra Asri Pacific Stock Crashes 62%-Why MSCI Penalized TPIA

A number of analysts predict that the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) could continue weakening in today’s trading session on Thursday (21/5/2026), while also issuing recommendations for selected stocks to watch. According to IDX Mobile data, the IHSG closed down by 52.18 points or 0.82% at 6,318.50 at the end of trading on Wednesday (20/5/2026). Throughout yesterday’s session, the index moved within a range of 6,215.56 at its lowest point and 6,318.50 at its highest.
In terms of market activity, total transaction value reached Rp22.04 trillion, with trading volume totaling 38.10 billion shares. Trading frequency was recorded at 2.449 million transactions. A total of 217 stocks advanced, 510 declined, while the remaining 232 moved relatively unchanged. Several stocks that weighed heavily on the LQ45 index included PT Barito Pacific Tbk. (BRPT), which plunged 10.18% to Rp1,720, PT Petrindo Jaya Kreasi Tbk. (CUAN), which fell 9.23% to Rp590, and PT Bumi Resources Tbk. (BUMI), which dropped 6.99% to Rp173. In addition, PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk. (AMMN) declined 6.31% to Rp2,970, while PT Alamtri Minerals Indonesia Tbk. (ADMR) weakened 6.21% to Rp1,435.
The research team at MNC Sekuritas assessed that the IHSG is currently still moving within wave [v] of wave A from wave (2) under the black label scenario. “Pay attention to the correction area within the 6,148-6,179 range, with the nearest upside potential located around 6,401-6,514,” wrote MNC Sekuritas in its report on Thursday (21/5/2026). Analysts estimate IHSG support levels to be at 6,148 and 6,092, while resistance levels are projected at 6,459 and 6,635.
MNC Sekuritas also recommends investors consider a buy on weakness strategy for shares of PT Adaro Andalan Indonesia Tbk. (AADI), PT Hartadinata Abadi Tbk. (HRTA), PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk. (MBMA), as well as a trading buy strategy for PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk. (AMRT).
