DIGIVESTASI - Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, Rosan Roeslani, announced that President Prabowo Subianto has invited dozens of Japanese entrepreneurs from the Japan Indonesia Association (Japinda) to contribute to the construction of the Great Giant Sea Wall along the coast of Java Island.

President Prabowo expressed his hope that Japanese construction companies would participate in the project, given their extensive experience in the sector.

“The President invited Japanese companies to be involved in the Great Giant Sea Wall project, which spans 40 km above Jakarta and extends to a total of 600 km,” Rosan said after a meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta on Thursday (December 5, 2024).

The participation of Japanese entrepreneurs is expected to accelerate the realization of this major project, which is one of the government's top priorities.

In addition, Rosan noted that President Prabowo also expressed his appreciation to Japanese companies that have been long-standing investors in Indonesia.

“The Japanese entrepreneurs presented their investment plans, including irrigation programs, the management of 100,000 hectares of peatland they have been overseeing, and plans for further development,” Rosan explained.

He also mentioned other major projects, such as the development of the Abadi Masela Gas Field by Inpex Corporation, which is expected to commence next year and be completed in the coming years.

President Prabowo is scheduled to meet again with a delegation of Japanese entrepreneurs from the Japan Jakarta Club on Friday (December 6, 2024). According to Rosan, the meeting with Japinda was productive and generated several positive inputs.

“The discussion was very productive, and we received many important insights from the Japanese side,” Rosan concluded.
