The company managing Alfamart, PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk. (AMRT), has officially taken over ownership of the PT Lancar Wiguna Sejahtera (Lawson) outlets from PT Midi Utama Indonesia Tbk. Alfamart acquired 70% of Lawson’s shares, equivalent to 1.48 billion shares.

Suantopo Po, Director and Corporate Secretary of Midi Utama, stated that his company and Alfamart signed the deed of share sale and purchase for Lawson on May 14.

“The company and SAT (Alfamart) have signed the Share Sale and Purchase Deed of LWS (Lawson),” he said, as quoted in the disclosure on Thursday (May 15, 2025).

Suantopo explained that the sale price per share was set at IDR 135. This means Alfamart spent approximately IDR 200.4 billion to buy 1,484,855,160 shares.

He further explained that the funds from this transaction will be used to support operational funding and capital expenditure. According to him, this corporate action is part of the company’s strategic steps.

“The company hopes that through this transaction, it can focus more on its retail business portfolio and that the proceeds from this transaction will support the company’s operational funding and capital expenditures to develop its business activities,” he clarified.

Suantopo also expressed hope that once the transaction becomes effective, the company will be able to improve and enhance its financial performance in the future, both in terms of profit and loss statements and cash flow reports. This is expected to provide added value to all shareholders going forward.
