DIGIVESTASI - The Minister of Cooperatives, Budi Arie Setiadi, plans to curate 1,332 cooperatives that will supply raw materials for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program. This step comes following a food poisoning incident that affected 40 students after consuming the MBG menu in Sukoharjo.
"The cooperatives have prepared 1,332 suppliers of raw materials such as milk, vegetables, rice, corn, and tempeh. We will be selecting these cooperatives," Budi explained at the State Palace in Central Jakarta on Friday (January 17).
This statement was made by Budi after attending a limited meeting at the Presidential Palace regarding the MBG program. "The meeting specifically discussed the MBG program," he said.
Earlier, the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, revealed that 40 students from SDN Dukuh 03 Sukoharjo in Central Java had experienced food poisoning after consuming crispy chicken from the MBG menu.
"As soon as it was known that some felt nauseous, all the chicken was immediately withdrawn and replaced with eggs," Dadan explained to the media on Thursday (January 16).
Dadan also mentioned that all the students involved in the incident had received treatment from medical staff and have now been confirmed to be in good health. "Those who felt nauseous have been treated and are now feeling cheerful again," he added.
