DIGIVESTASI - The Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, revealed that the Minister of Manpower Regulation (Permenaker) Number 16 of 2024 regarding the Determination of the Minimum Wage for 2025 will only apply for the upcoming year. He added that after that, the government will formulate a new regulation with a more long-term approach.
“This regulation is only valid for 2025. This is our response after the Constitutional Court's decision. Moving forward, we will collaborate with employers and labor unions to draft more sustainable regulations,” said Yassierli at the Ministry of Manpower office in Jakarta on Wednesday (December 4).
However, Yassierli emphasized that creating long-term regulations will take more time. The government will once again involve employers, workers, and other relevant parties in the formulation of these regulations.
“This process will certainly take time. We need to sit together, consider various variables, and assess how significant these factors are. All of this requires time,” he added.
He also mentioned that the new regulations to be drafted by the government could take the form of a Government Regulation (PP) or another format. Previously, Minister Yassierli confirmed that Permenaker 16 of 2024 had been officially issued, with the provision that the minimum wage regulation for 2025 would be implemented starting January 1, 2025. One of the main points in this regulation is a 6.5 percent increase in the national average minimum wage.
