President Prabowo Orders Rp306 Trillion Budget Cut in 2025
President Prabowo Subianto has officially directed a budget reduction of Rp306 trillion for 2025 through the issuance of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 1 of 2025.
This policy is outlined in Inpres 1/2025, which focuses on Expenditure Efficiency in the Implementation of the 2025 State Budget (APBN) and Regional Budget (APBD).
The budget savings are being achieved by cutting expenses across 16 budget categories, including ceremonial events, official travel, seminars, printing, and infrastructure projects.
Several ministries and government institutions will be significantly impacted by this budget reduction. Below are the five ministries/agencies facing the largest budget cuts:
