Elon Musk Unveils Grok 3, AI Model Claimed to Outperform ChatGPT

Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, has officially launched its latest AI model, Grok 3. The model is claimed to outperform ChatGPT and DeepSeek based on initial tests covering mathematics, science, and coding.

"We are excited to introduce Grok 3, which we believe is far more advanced than Grok 2," Musk stated during a live demonstration of Grok 3 on his social media platform, X.

Additionally, xAI has launched a new product called Deep Search, designed to be the next-generation search engine. Grok 3 will be available for X Premium subscribers in the U.S., with access also offered through a separate subscription for web and app versions.

Musk: Grok 3 Has Superior Reasoning Capabilities

At The World Governments Summit in Dubai last week, Musk claimed that Grok 3 possesses high intelligence with strong reasoning capabilities. He further explained that the AI model has been trained on vast datasets and can self-correct its mistakes to achieve better logical consistency.

"Grok 3 has extremely strong reasoning abilities. Based on our tests so far, it outperforms anything released to date. That’s a good sign," Musk said.

According to the xAI team, Grok 3 has been ranked higher than its competitors in Chatbot Arena, a crowdsourced platform that pits various AI models against each other in blind tests. Musk also emphasized that Grok 3 will continue to evolve with ongoing improvements.

"We must emphasize that this is still in beta, meaning there may be some imperfections initially, but we will fix them quickly, almost daily," he noted.

He added that Grok 3 is an AI designed to maximize truth-seeking.

xAI Builds Massive Data Center to Train Grok 3

xAI has constructed a massive data center in Memphis equipped with over 200,000 GPUs dedicated to training Grok 3.

Elon Musk founded xAI in 2023 as part of his expansion into the AI industry. Previously, he co-founded OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, in 2015.
