Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa reaffirmed his commitment to pursue tax evaders with total outstanding liabilities reaching Rp60 trillion. He declared that these funds would be forced into the state treasury within one week.

“As I mentioned yesterday, there are Rp60 trillion in unpaid taxes from major taxpayers whose cases are already final and binding. Within a week, I will compel them to pay,” Purbaya stated after attending the House of Representatives’ Plenary Session on Tuesday (September 23, 2025).

Purbaya emphasized that the arrears would be collected in 2025, not postponed to 2026. “No, it will be in 2025. These are tax obligations that are already final and must be settled,” he stressed.

He also underlined that the government would no longer trouble taxpayers (TP) who have complied. “By 2026, I will make sure once again that if someone has paid their taxes, they must not be disturbed at all. There should be no more stories about tax officers extorting compliant taxpayers,” he explained.

To strengthen oversight, Purbaya announced plans to establish a special complaint channel for citizens who face issues with tax levies. Earlier, during the Our State Budget press conference at the Ministry of Finance on Monday (September 22), he revealed a list of around 200 major delinquent taxpayers with total arrears ranging from Rp50 trillion to Rp60 trillion.

“We already have a list of 200 major tax defaulters whose cases are final. We intend to pursue and execute collections from them. The amount is roughly Rp50 trillion to Rp60 trillion,” he revealed.

Once again, Purbaya stressed that the government would not allow tax evaders to escape. “We will collect the dues soon, and they will not be able to run,” he concluded.
