DIGIVESTASI - Blockchain TON Network Surpasses Ethereum in Daily Active Users. The Open Network (TON) blockchain, a network developed by the Telegram team, managed to surpass Ethereum in terms of the number of daily active users in June 2024.

In a post on June 10, Delphi Digital revealed that the number of daily active addresses on TON has surpassed Ethereum. This achievement is largely attributed to Telegram's huge user base, reaching 900 million users, as well as the wide distribution of the Telegram app.

Delphi Digital calls this phenomenon the "Flippening that Crypto Twitter ignores". The term Flippening is used to describe the potential reversal of dominance of a large currency or network, in this case Ethereum.

However, Delphi Digital still doubts the sustainability of this network's growth in the long run and whether TON can continue to surpass Ethereum permanently.

Intense Competition between TON and Ethereum

Data from Artemis shows that the competition between TON and Ethereum has been intense since May 2024, with TON first outperforming Ethereum on May 17 and since early June, TON has been in the lead for 10 consecutive days.

On June 3, TON reached a record number of daily active users of up to 568,300. In comparison, Ethereum hasn't reached that number since September 13, 2023.
