Foreign Investors Keep Buying Indonesian Stocks, Targeting These Top Companies!

The Indonesia Composite Stock Index (IHSG) is currently on a positive trend and is heading toward the 8,000 level ahead of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day celebration. This momentum is also supported by the inflow of foreign funds over the past week.

 

On Thursday’s trading session (August 14, 2025), the IHSG closed up by 0.43%, gaining 38.34 points to 7,931.25, marking its highest closing level in history. During the session, the index even reached an intraday peak of 7,973.98.

 

For reference, the previous all-time closing high was 7,905.39, recorded on September 19, 2024, while the highest intraday level prior to today was 7,910.56, also recorded on the same date.

 

Out of all traded stocks, 345 posted gains, 282 declined, and 171 remained unchanged. Trading activity was relatively active with a total transaction value of Rp 18.68 trillion, involving 42 billion shares across 2.14 million transactions.

 

Nearly all sectors strengthened, with the largest gains recorded in the technology, energy, and utilities sectors. On the other hand, the financial and property sectors posted declines.

 

Over the past four trading days, foreign investors recorded a net buy of Rp 5.4 trillion. On Thursday alone, net foreign buy reached Rp 827.4 billion.

 

Shares of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) were the most sought-after by foreign investors, driving a 1.79% increase in its share price to 3,420.

 

The next most purchased stock by foreign investors was PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) with a net buy of Rp 264 billion, followed by PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk (WIFI) at Rp 130.5 billion, and PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) at Rp 112.8 billion.
