BBCA Directors and Commissioners Buy Shares Amid Price Drop & Huge Dividend Payout

Several directors and commissioners of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) took advantage of the recent share price drop to accumulate blue-chip stocks of Indonesia’s largest private bank. The move also comes ahead of BBCA’s massive dividend distribution exceeding Rp30 trillion in 2025.

According to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) disclosure on Thursday (March 20, 2025), two BCA directors, Lianawaty Suwono (Director of Human Capital) and Frengky Chandra Kusuma (Managing Director), were among those purchasing BBCA shares.

BBCA Directors' Share Purchase Details

Lianawaty Suwono increased her BBCA holdings to 2.8 million shares (0.002%), up from 2.6 million shares. She executed two transactions:

  1. 119,800 shares at Rp8,325 per share, valued at Rp997.33 million.
  2. 119,500 shares at Rp8,350 per share, valued at Rp997.83 million.

Her total investment on March 18, 2025, amounted to Rp1.99 billion, designated for investment purposes.

Similarly, Frengky Chandra Kusuma purchased 291,942 shares at Rp8,975 per share, with a total value of Rp2.62 billion. He later acquired 30,000 additional shares at Rp8,450 per share, worth Rp253.5 million.

In total, Frengky invested Rp2.87 billion on March 18, 2025, increasing his BBCA holdings to 2.43 million shares (0.002%).

Meanwhile, BBCA’s President Director, Jahja Setiaatmadja, also bought BBCA shares on March 18, 2025, investing Rp4.97 billion through five separate transactions.

BBCA Dividend Payout: Rp36.98 Trillion in Total

BBCA announced a final dividend payout for the 2024 fiscal year totaling Rp30.81 trillion, or Rp250 per share. This follows an earlier interim dividend payout of Rp6.16 trillion (Rp50 per share) on December 11, 2024.

In total, BBCA will distribute Rp36.98 trillion (Rp300 per share), representing 67.44% of its 2024 net profit of Rp54.83 trillion. At a closing price of Rp8,375 per share on Thursday (March 20, 2025), BBCA’s final dividend yield is approximately 2.98%.

BBCA Stock Outlook: Low Dividend Yield, but Strong Growth Potential

According to Mirae Asset’s Head of Proprietary Investment, Handiman Soetoyo, BBCA’s dividend payout fell below market expectations. Analysts had anticipated a final dividend of Rp311-312 per share, slightly higher than the actual amount.

For the first time in eight years, BBCA’s dividend payout ratio declined, likely to ensure long-term dividend growth sustainability.

Infovesta Utama analyst, Ekky Topan, noted that BBCA is not an ideal choice for dividend seekers, as other banks offer higher yields.

However, BBCA remains a top pick for investors prioritizing capital gains and investment security, with projections targeting Rp9,350 in the short term and Rp10,000 if the uptrend continues.
