PT Bank Syariah Nasional (BSN) has officially launched under its new identity as a sharia-based bank, envisioned to become a driving force for the future of Indonesia’s Islamic finance industry. BSN was established through the spin-off of the Sharia Business Unit (UUS) of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk, following the successful acquisition of Bank Victoria Syariah.

“As we all know, BTN completed the acquisition of Bank Victoria Syariah on June 5, 2025. As part of this corporate action and the spin-off process, today the name has been officially changed to Bank Syariah Nasional,” said BSN’s President Director, Alex Sofjan Noor, during the launch event of BSN’s new name and logo, quoted on Friday (Oct 3, 2025).

The process has already secured an operating license from the Financial Services Authority (OJK). BSN’s new name and logo carry profound philosophies that will serve as guiding principles for the company moving forward.

“The name ‘Bank Syariah Nasional’ reflects a broad vision to serve all layers of society. Meanwhile, the word ‘National’ highlights wide coverage, trust, and credibility,” Alex explained.

The identity of ‘Sharia’, he added, is a commitment to uphold sharia principles with integrity and professionalism. “This is not just a label, but must be embodied as a work culture and a guiding principle in every business decision within BSN,” he continued.

Alex further elaborated that BSN’s logo adopts elements from BTN’s corporate design with a bold and dynamic style. “The BSN logo symbolizes modernization, innovation, and relevance to contemporary developments. The use of lowercase letters reflects humility, friendliness, and approachability,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the five-pointed star symbol represents Justice, Blessings, Diversity, Sustainability, and Novelty. The star also serves as a symbol of professionalism and integrity in implementing sharia principles.

“Through BSN, we are committed to listening, understanding, and accompanying our customers throughout their life journey. This is the Bank’s promise to grow and prosper together with society,” Alex added.

According to him, the renaming and rebranding of BSN mark the beginning of a new chapter for the institution in pursuing its vision as the primary financial partner for families that is both blessed and trustworthy.

“This journey has just begun. The presence of Bank Syariah Nasional is not merely to comply with regulatory obligations, but also to carry a great responsibility in expanding access to sharia financial services, supporting national development, and bringing blessings to the entire Indonesian community,” Alex emphasized.
