China has officially added six American companies to its foreign entity blacklist, citing their involvement in arms sales to Taiwan and alleged military technology cooperation that Beijing claims threatens its national sovereignty and security.
According to a statement from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, published by state-run Xinhua News Agency on Thursday (April 10, 2025), the listed firms are held accountable for “unlawful activities” that undermine China’s core interests.
"Despite China’s repeated objections, these companies have continued to participate in arms deals and military-related collaborations with Taiwan, seriously endangering China’s sovereignty and development interests," the ministry spokesperson stated.
China emphasized that the blacklist is selectively applied and targets only a limited number of foreign entities that pose significant threats to national security.
"Law-abiding and honest foreign companies have nothing to fear," the spokesperson assured.
Despite the move, China reiterated its openness to foreign investment, vowing to maintain a fair, stable, and predictable business environment for international companies that operate within the legal framework.
