The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, announced that his agency plans to request additional funding from the Ministry of Finance, which is currently led by Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.

Dadan delivered this statement during a hearing session (RDP) with Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) held in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

He explained that at the beginning of the year, many parties had doubted BGN’s ability to absorb its allocated budget. However, based on internal calculations, budget absorption has shown a steady increase since January 2025—with Rp52 billion absorbed in January, Rp1.1 trillion in February, Rp1.8 trillion in March, and Rp2.5 trillion in April.

As of this month, BGN’s total budget absorption has reached Rp43.47 trillion, representing 61.2% of its total budget ceiling of Rp71 trillion.

For the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program, Rp36.23 trillion has already been absorbed out of the total budget allocation of Rp51.2 trillion, leaving Rp14.97 trillion remaining. Based on current projections, Dadan stated that BGN requires an additional Rp14.53 trillion to ensure the program’s full implementation.

In addition, BGN is also focusing on the construction of 8,000 Nutrition Service Units (SPPG) in remote and hard-to-reach areas, in collaboration with local government task forces. These areas include mountainous regions and territories separated by rivers or seas, and to execute this initiative, BGN estimates a funding need of Rp14.1 trillion.

Therefore, the total additional budget required amounts to Rp28.63 trillion, combining the supplementary funds for MBG and SPPG programs. Dadan confirmed that the official proposal for this additional funding has already been submitted to the Ministry of Finance.

“The total amount of additional funds we are currently requesting from the Ministry of Finance stands at Rp28.63 trillion,” Dadan stated during the meeting.

Furthermore, Dadan explained that based on BGN’s financial projections for the year 2025, the agency will require a total of Rp99 trillion.

“In conclusion, the National Nutrition Agency is expected to utilize a total of Rp99 trillion, consisting of Rp71 trillion from the existing budget ceiling and an additional Rp28.63 trillion,” he elaborated.
