The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) announced that 1,690 companies are currently in the process of building production facilities. The total investment value from these projects is estimated to reach Rp 930 trillion.

Kemenperin spokesperson Febri Hendri Antoni Arif stated that this data was compiled from companies that have officially reported to the ministry. He added that these projects are projected to create 332,298 new jobs.

“These figures cover 23 industrial subsectors. The companies that have reported to us are all in the phase of constructing production facilities. For the first semester of 2025, there are 1,690 industries reporting a combined investment value of Rp 930 trillion. Excluding land and construction, the investment stands at Rp 593 trillion,” he said during a press conference at the ministry's office.

Febri detailed that in the food industry, 246 companies have reported facility development projects with a total investment of Rp 50 trillion. This sector alone is expected to absorb 16,206 workers.

Additionally, 77 companies in the textile industry have reported to the ministry that they are building factories, with a projected investment value of Rp 5 trillion and a potential workforce absorption of 14,000 employees.

“The numbers are quite significant, aren’t they? There is also the leather goods and footwear industry, which has an even larger investment than the food industry. This indicates that the sector is not only capital-intensive but also labor-intensive,” Febri explained.
