IKN to Build 30 New Towers for Civil Servants, Each Worth Up to IDR 200 Billion

Jakarta – The Nusantara Capital Authority is gearing up to construct 30 new residential towers to house civil servants (ASN) moving to Indonesia's new capital. Each tower may cost up to IDR 200 billion, according to IKN’s infrastructure deputy Danis Hidayat.

“That’s the early estimate. It might range between IDR 150–200 billion depending on the size and surroundings,” Danis said on Tuesday (April 22, 2025).

The project will be funded from the IKN’s 2025 budget of IDR 14.4 trillion, recently approved by the House of Representatives (DPR). The funds will also go toward government offices, roads, and public facilities.

While the towers are mainly planned for the Central Government Core (KIPP 1A), other areas like 1B, 1C, and WP2 are on the table as relocation demand increases.

Minister Rini Widyantini added that each ASN family would be entitled to one official housing unit. The relocation process will be phased based on housing readiness and institutional transitions.

By June 2025, several residences will be ready:

  • RJTM: 36 landscaped houses with community features.

  • ASN Housing: 17 towers across multiple zones with living capacity for thousands.

  • Defense Housing: Dedicated towers for Paspampres, POLRI, and BIN officers.
