The government has confirmed that the distribution of 10-kilogram rice social assistance (bansos) will resume in June and July 2025, after it was previously halted earlier this year.

Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Susiwijono Moegiarso, stated that the 10-kg rice assistance will be allocated to approximately 18.3 million beneficiary families (KPM). He further explained that the program will be executed by relevant ministries and government agencies.

“Food assistance in the form of 10 kg of rice will be provided to about 18.3 million KPM. The program implementation is being carried out by the Ministry of Social Affairs, in coordination with the National Food Agency (Bapanas), the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture, and BULOG.

This initiative is part of a stimulus package for Food Assistance and SPHP (Stabilization of Food Supply and Prices) for the two-month period of June–July 2025,” said Susiwijono in a written statement quoted on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

Previously, the government had planned to distribute the 10-kg rice assistance continuously over six months during the first half of 2025. However, the program was temporarily suspended. Now, in line with a new policy package that is set to be launched in mid-year, the rice assistance program is being reinstated.

In addition to the rice assistance, Susiwijono also mentioned that the government will expand the distribution of the Food Card (Kartu Sembako), providing IDR 200,000 per month to around 18.3 million beneficiary families.
