Altseason 2025 Is Approaching: Signals and Predictions from Analysts

The crypto asset market is showing strong signs of entering the altseason phase by mid-2025. After Bitcoin dominated the early part of the year, attention is now shifting toward altcoins, supported by strengthening technical indicators and rising investor sentiment.

Technical Indicators Fuel Optimism

One of the key technical signals triggering speculation is the reappearance of the Altcoin Golden Cross pattern—when the short-term moving average crosses above the long-term moving average. Crypto market analyst Pepesso noted that a similar pattern previously led to an altcoin rally of up to 5,000% in 2021, and it is now re-emerging in altcoin performance charts.

In addition, data shows that Bitcoin dominance (BTCD) has declined from 65% to 63% over the past week. At the same time, the global crypto market capitalization has increased from US$2.90 trillion to US$3.24 trillion. This divergence indicates a potential rotation of capital from Bitcoin into alternative crypto assets.

Promising Altcoins for June 2025

Several altcoins are expected to be in the spotlight throughout June. According to analysts from Altcoin Buzz and Blockchainmedia.id, the following four altcoins show strong growth potential:

• Toncoin (TON): This altcoin is the main sponsor of the fourth Non-Fungible Conference (NFC) in Lisbon, held from June 4–6, 2025. Strategic announcements from the Toncoin project are expected to trigger a significant price surge.

• Virtual Protocol (VIRTUAL): This project offers a launchpad platform for artificial intelligence (AI) agents. Over the past 30 days, the VIRTUAL token has surged by 60%, with an annual price increase of 2,000%.

• Quant Network (QNT): Focused on interoperability between blockchain systems and traditional financial institutions, Quant Network is seen as a vital bridge between the Web3 ecosystem and conventional financial infrastructure.

• Near Protocol (NEAR): Leveraging Nightshade sharding technology and AI integration, NEAR is one of the most promising Layer-1 blockchains, delivering high efficiency without compromising scalability or speed.

Warning: Risks Still Exist

Despite the strengthening signals of an approaching altseason, several analysts have warned of potential risks. One on-chain analyst predicted that a majority of altcoins could depreciate by up to 99% by 2026. As a precaution, investors are advised to consider exiting the crypto market no later than August 2025 to avoid the possibility of a major correction.
