Strategy Allocates Rp12.3 Trillion to Acquire Bitcoin Amid Persistent Market Volatility
Amid the high volatility in the crypto asset market, Strategy one of the public companies holding the largest Bitcoin reserves—has made a massive purchase of the digital asset worth Rp12.3 trillion. This move reflects the company’s strong confidence in Bitcoin’s long-term prospects, despite the ongoing uncertainty in the market.
In an official announcement released on May 19, 2025, via its verified account on platform X, Strategy revealed that the Bitcoin accumulation was conducted in phases, totaling 7,390 BTC, equivalent to approximately US$764.9 million.
Large-scale institutional purchases are not new to the industry. Previously, in March 2024, MicroStrategy, led by Michael Saylor, also made a significant acquisition of 12,000 BTC. With that move, the company’s total Bitcoin holdings reached 205,000 BTC, valued at around US$14.7 billion, according to CoinDesk Indonesia.
Continued support from major institutions is believed to be a positive catalyst for Bitcoin’s price in the long term. However, analysts warn that volatility risk remains a major concern, especially for retail investors.
With Strategy’s aggressive re-entry into the market, Bitcoin’s price movement is expected to become increasingly dynamic in the near term, drawing attention from market participants and digital asset industry observers worldwide.
